Segway Inc. Partners with PixelMEDIA for New Web Initiatives
Maker of the Segway® PT looks to put its brand “in motion” while delivering a more streamlined and rewarding user experience
Portsmouth, NH - 03/19/2007 - PixelMEDIA, Inc., a professional services consultancy focused on internet enablement, today announced an agreement with Segway, Inc. to design and develop its new corporate website. Founded by inventor and entrepreneur Dean Kamen in 1999, Segway, the leader in two-wheeled electric transportation, is the developer and manufacturer of the well-known Segway Personal Transporter (PT) a self-balancing, zero-emissions transportation device popular with consumer and commercial users.
The website initiative coincides with Segways continued expansion in markets such as federal and local government, police and security, and golf courses and resorts. The company desires a web presence that is not only more appealing and easier to navigate for new audience segments, but also features a fresh look that immerses users in the Segway experience, reinforcing the brand and tagline Simply Moving.
I had worked with PixelMEDIA previously and was quite familiar with their capabilities, said Luis Fernandes, Segways Interactive Services Manager. They quickly won over our team by taking the time to understand our challenges and goals, and bringing a collaborative approach to the project. PixelMEDIAs initial focus will be on user testing and research, followed by the creation of engaging visual concepts to appeal to Segways target audiences. PixelMEDIA will leverage its expertise in user experience, visual design, and motion and interactivity to develop a site that conveys both the practical and recreational qualities of a Segway PT.
