PixelMEDIA Wins “Best of Retail” Award for ECCO USA Website

Web Marketing Association’s Award Acknowledges ECCO USA’s Site as One of the Internet’s Best

Portsmouth, NH - 12/15/2004 - PixelMEDIA, Inc., a full service company offering integrated strategy, design and implementation services for Web, multimedia and IT initiatives, today announced the company has won the Web Marketing Associations prestigious Best of Retail WebAward for its work on ECCO USAs retail website, the US branch of the seventh largest shoe brand in the world. The Associations WebAward Competition is a premier annual award competition that judges and recognizes the individual and team achievement of Web professionals who create and maintain outstanding websites.

The award recognized PixelMEDIAs development of a fully customized e-commerce storefront and content and asset management system that was designed, developed and deployed on Microsoft's .NET platform. PixelMEDIA designed and developed a fully customizable and secure enterprise class commerce solution that features an elegantly branded Web interface, full product line catalog, and a configurable shopping cart. ECCOs e-commerce site utilizes real-time SAP integration to offer two-way inventory feeds, integration with its order management system for fulfillment, and automatic order updates. In addition, ECCO is able to benefit from cross-sell opportunities based on built in campaign management capabilities.

With over 80 industry categories and websites competing head-to-head for the top honors, it made for tough competition. WebAward entries come in from 19 countries round the world to be considered in one of 80 categories. Each submission is judged against a standard of excellence and then against the other entries in a certain category to win a Best of the Web award. A certain minimum score must be achieved to qualify for a WebAward with entries being judged on seven criteria -- design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copywriting and ease-of-use. The WebAward competition's judges represent various relevant disciplines and are distinguished experts in their fields, including members of the media, advertising executives, site designers, content providers and Web masters.
