Well, for us old-schoolers, long before Flash was anything but an idea, there was Director. Back in the day it was Macromedia Director. And way way back – it was Mac only and you had to use “the Gaffer” to convert Mac files to play on a Windows machine. Way way back… like early 90′s. I think Teece was 10.
I’ve got many thousands of hours into this program; and this company, PixelMEDIA, was largely built on the back of Director.

Business Challenge
Harvey Industries needed an innovative way to train their rapidly expanding pool of warehouse personnel. Most training had previously entailed job shadowing where new hires would learn what they could in a few months before jumping in on their own. This model worked, but wasn’t scalable to Harvey’s success and growth. The initial prototype needed to:
- Demonstrate the strength and extensibility of Web-enabled computer-based training
- Create an experience that would appeal to and be usable by a non-technical audience
- Provide clear metrics to assess progress
- Clearly demonstrate ROI to the Executive committee
